Avoiding Armageddon: Diverting Asteroids with Nuclear Explosives
Come learn from Dr. David Dearborn, an LLNL scientist, about the development of asteroid diversion by nuclear explosives! The impact of asteroids can cause little or no damage to our planet or may have the potential to destroy entire regions or civilizations. This lecture presents an overview of impact threat, followed by the development of the ability to divert such objects through nuclear explosives.
