One Year NightLife Anniversary w/ music by Jeff Stallings and Romance and Reproduction

Join us for a special NightLife as we celebrate our 1-year anniversary.

We welcome back resident DJ Jeff Stallings. Jeff's sets feature Balearic, African, Bedouin and Latin beats and range from chill-out and electronic lounge to start the party, then nu-disco, deep house and chill-house to keep the dancefloor cooking. He is a resident on the downtempo internet radio show Below Zero and has played Mezzanine, 1015 Folsom, Swig and Harlot in San Francisco, as well as various venues in Los Angeles. Jeff also co-founded the renowned “REAL BAD” party now in its 22nd year Folsom Street Fair weekend.

Also, we have a pre-Valentine’s day treat, “Romance and Reproduction”.  Throughout the Academy, you can learn about how different plants and animals from many different parts of the natural world reproduce.  Among other things, you’ll see baculum (penis bones) from a variety of different mammals, learn about how the invertebrates in the tidepool exhibit reproduce, and find out exciting information about the frequency and duration of lion mating, penguin mating and zebra mating.

The California Academy of Sciences is a multifaceted scientific institution committed to leading-edge research, to educational outreach, and to finding new and innovative ways to engage and inspire the public.

The Academy's mission - to explore, explain and protect the natural world - extends to all corners of the institution; from a research expedition in the highlands of Papua New Guinea, to a teacher training program in a California classroom, to an interactive game on the museum exhibit floor.
