Applications and Influence of Evolution: A Wide Spectrum

Dr. Mindell will discuss the broad applications of evolutionary science, from public health to forensics to conservation, based in part on his recent book, The Evolving World. Learn how evolution has grown from an unpopular curiosity to a set of concepts and tools that are useful to society.
The Academy is pleased to sponsor this event as part of Evolve 2009, a San Francisco celebration of evolution in honor of the 200th anniversary of Charles Darwin’s birth and the 150th anniversary of the publication of On the Origin of Species.
