Nightlife: Jeff Stallings of Below Zero on Energy 92.7 and Jean-Michel Cousteau
DJ Jeff Stallings
This week, groove to the downtempo and chillhouse sounds of Jeff Stallings, resident DJ on Energy 92.7 FM's Below Zero program. Jeff's oeuvre is inspired by the edgy chillout music made famous at Buddha Bar and Hôtel Costes in Paris, as well as the smooth and creamy Balearic dance beats synonymous with the Mediterranean island of Ibiza. Locally, he has played Mezzanine, 1015 Folsom, and Etiquette Lounge, and co-founded the acclaimed “REAL BAD” party, now in its 21st year during Folsom Street Fair weekend.
Jean-Michel Cousteau
'I've always said, if you protect the ocean, you protect yourself,' - J-M Cousteau.
The Academy, in partnership with KQED, is proud to present the renowned ocean filmmaker Jean-Michel Cousteau, screening and giving a talk on his renowned PBS series Jean-Michel Cousteau: Ocean Adventures. Following in the footsteps of his father Jacques Cousteau, Jean-Michel has produced over 70 films, receiving the Emmy, the Peabody Award, the 7 d'Or, and the Cable Ace Award, among others. He has been an avid environmentalist, educator, and film producer for more than forty years.
Due to popular demand, a special ticket is required to reserve a seat for the Jean-Michel Cousteau lecture. We anticipate that this lecture will sell out in advance.
The talk is at 7:00pm in the Academy Forum. Doors to the Forum open at 6:30pm. Ticket holders must claim their seats by 6:45pm. Unclaimed seats may be released after that time.

The California Academy of Sciences is a multifaceted scientific institution committed to leading-edge research, to educational outreach, and to finding new and innovative ways to engage and inspire the public.
The Academy's mission - to explore, explain and protect the natural world - extends to all corners of the institution; from a research expedition in the highlands of Papua New Guinea, to a teacher training program in a California classroom, to an interactive game on the museum exhibit floor.
