Green City Mayors: How to Make Your City Sustainable
Greg Nickels, Mayor, Seattle; Incoming President, U.S. Conference of Mayors
Gregor Robertson, Mayor, Vancouver, British Columbia - Fourth Greenest City in the World
Hunter Lovins, Founder and President, Natural Capitalism Solutions; Professor, Presidio School of Management; Co-founder, Rocky Mountain Institute - Moderator
Ninety percent of Vancouver's power comes from renewable energy. When the United States did not sign the Kyoto Protocol, Seattle Mayor Nickels launched the U.S. Mayors Climate Protection Agreement and has since brought together 600 U.S. cities committed to reducing greenhouse emissions. City-based green initiatives are taking the lead in establishing sustainable public policy. Business leaders, environment gurus, and policy makers will come together to meet, greet, rub elbows and share best practices.
This event will be held at The California Academy of Sciences, the largest public Platinum-rated building on the planet and the world's greenest museum. After the panel discussion, we will host a networking reception in the renowned Climate Change exhibit.
