Conversations About Landscape: Roles for Emerging Mobility in Sustainable Transportation
The Bay Area’s transportation system is running at capacity. We see the strain when squeezing our way into crowded MUNI and BART cars, waiting 30 minutes or more at the Bay Bridge toll plaza, and dodging scooters as we cross the street. To add to the challenge, the California Metropolitan Transportation Commission predicts that the Bay Area population will swell by 30%, to nearly 10 million people, by 2040.
Join transportation experts, urban planners, and equity advocates in a conversation about transportation solutions that serve a growing demand but are also sustainable, accessible, and safe. We’ll explore how emerging mobility technologies, such as ride-hailing services and scooters, can fit into the transportation ecosystem in ways that support equity and inclusion without harming the environment or contributing to congestion.
Speakers: Tim Doherty, SF Municipal Transportation Agency; Clarrissa Cabansagan, TransForm; Drew Cooper, SF County Transportation Agency; Solange Gould, California Dept of Public Health; Austin Brown, UC Davis
