How do scientists go from OMG to PhD? How do they turn their passion for science into their profession? What advice do they have for future scientists?
If you are a 5th-12th grade student, undergraduate, teacher or parent, join us to ask these questions and more in a Q&A session with our weekly Seminar speakers on Wednesdays from 2:30 - 3 PM.
Parents must give permission for children under 18 to participate.
Mehak Jain (MJ) is a true Oregonian excited to experience warmer weathers in the Bay. Her favorite marine animals are dolphins! MJ received her B.S. in Human Physiology at the University of Oregon and made a career shift not too long after to pursue her first passion in marine science. She has worked on board vessels of the Alaskan Fisheries as a field biologist collecting field data for NMFS. She is interested in the effects of climate change and anthropogenic stressors on marine habitats and organisms and wants to contribute in the conservation of marine life. She is working in Dr. Karina Nielsen’s lab exploring the effects of ocean acidification in the bay.
