Full Spectrum Science: Sound
Full Spectrum Science: Sound
Join Exploratorium scientist Ron Hipschman for Full Spectrum Science, a series of exuberant explorations into physical phenomena on the third Thursday and Sunday of each month. This month's presentation is Sound. What is sound? How high a pitch can you hear? Can you measure the speed of sound with a yardstick? Can two sounds add up to no sound? Explore these questions and more in this resonant presentation. Full Spectrum Science: Sound is on Sunday, June 16, 2013 at 2pm, and Thursday, June 20, 2013 at 7pm, in the Exploratorium's Central Gallery Classroom.
Full Spectrum Science is a dynamic series on the third Thursday and Sunday of each month that covers different aspects of physics, including sound, color, heat and temperature, and electrostatics. Each hour-long presentation includes hands-on activities and demonstrations. Presentations are for ages 6 years and older, and are included with admission to the Exploratorium. Please note that the museum closes at 5pm on Thursdays and reopens from evenings from 6pm-10pm for 18+ only.
