Cancer: latest strategies in battling the formidable foe

Modern medicine has cured us of many diseases and increased our lifespan. The biggest foe that still stumps scientists has been called “the emperor of all maladies” because there are too many genetic and environmental factors that contribute to cancer's different molecular mechanisms and characteristics. It is also difficult to target treatments specifically to cancer cells and not affect normal cells. Furthermore, there is great fear that cancer can unknowingly strike for anyone at anytime anywhere.

Despite spending $5 billion per year on cancer research, mankind is only beginning to scratch the surface of understanding and potentially curing the disease. Join us in hearing about the latest molecular strategies that promising startups are taking: gene therapy, blocking cancer signaling, single-cell sorting, and reverting cancer stem cells.

Speakers: Mubhij Ahmad (CEO of DNAlite), Aman Iqbal (CEO of Proteorex Therapeutics), John Butler (CEO of QuantumCyte), Attila Hajdu (CEO of Stelvio Oncology)
