Fire on the Mountain

Join ACR Education Specialist Dave Self as we look for evidence of fire and its effects on the landscape. You’ll learn about fire in the geologic past and the use of fire as a tool employed by Native cultures in the management of useful plants and habitats. We will also discuss historic fires, intentional burning in the mid-1900’s, and the future of fire, including ACR’s Fire Ecology Program, as we learn to live within the flammable landscapes of Sonoma County.
