Hard Earth Talk: Organizing Green
How to catalyze communities to environmental action?
Environmental problems have the potential to affect us all. Combating them will require changing individual behavior, from the food we eat to the way we travel. But it also will require community action: protesting to change policy, for example, and working with neighbors to enhance habitat for native species. Which raises a question: How to spur environmentally effective collective action? Research shows that some strategies, such as peer pressure, might work -- and that some don't.
