This year San Lorenzo HIgh School is again participating in the Bringing Back the Natives Garden Tour.
Bring your children to the school, where they can enjoy the East Bay Regional Park District’s Mobile Visitor Center, with its accompanying, engaging naturalist, play Native American games, do arts and crafts, pound acorns, and view the transparent beehive of Joe’s Honey.
- The California Native Plant Society, Friends of San Leandro Creek, Friends of San Lorenzo Creek, Eden Area Food Alliance, and the San Lorenzo Homeowner’s Association will staff tables.
- Are you interested in / worried about sea level rise? Did you know that the Oro Loma Sanitary District recently created a “horizontal levee” in the Bay? It is designed to help combat sea level raise, restore habitat (it is planted with 70,000 California native plants!), and provide additional sewage treatment. If you would like to learn more about the this project come meet Jason Warner, General Manager of Oro Loma Sanitary District, from 10:30 to 4:00.

2:00 “Climate change and your garden: how you can make seasonal observations about nature’s calendar and have your data used by scientists who are researching climate change” by the Druids and Joia Fishman
Learn about California native plants, and browse through and purchase more than More than seventy species of native plants grown by the high school students. Proceeds benefit the school's environmental program.
