Brown dwarfs â€" not quite a star, not quite a planet. UCSC graduate student will talk about how we study the atmospheres of brown dwarfs, and how they can help us better understand gas giant planets. Next we will hear from Dr. Andrew Rushby about how ice and snow may appear differently on the surface of planets orbiting around low-mass stars.
