After Dark: Pride

rainbow prideFifty years after the Stonewall Riots in New York, and in conjunction with San Francisco Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Pride Celebration, come commemorate and celebrate LGBT heritage and culture. Everyone is welcome at this evening exploring LGBT history in San Francisco and learning more about ensuring that everyone can enjoy personal autonomy and freedom of expression.

Ah-Mer-Ah-Su With Star Amerasu

Treat yourself to the eclectic, electric music of Oakland artist Ah-Mer-Ah-Su, whose 2018 album Star was voted one of the Top 20 LGBT Albums of the Year by Billboard Magazine and featured in publications from Paper Magazine to KQED Arts. Ah-Mer-Ah-Su’s layers smooth indie electronic pop with a Nina Simone-esque voice and a style all her own.

The colors of the rainbow are all around us all the time, contained in white light so what makes them organize into ROYGBIV? Bend your mind around the science of rainbows with Exploratorium scientist and raconteur Ron Hipschman.

The ACLU has a long history of defending the LGBT community, including their first LGBT rights case in 1936 and founding the LGBT Project in 1986. Today, the ACLU brings more LGBT cases and advocacy initiatives than any other national organization. Come learn about the work they’re doing to support the rights of the community.
