Join Peninsula Open Space Trust and the Don Edwards SF Bay National Wildlife Refuge for a beautiful walking tour of Inner Bair Island on Bay Day. On this 1.5-mile walk, witness wetland restoration in progress, hear the story of Bair Island protection, and learn how these former salt ponds are turning back into a healthy tidal marsh. We'll also hear how our partner organizations are actively restoring habitat along the trail. Directions: Take Highway 101 and exit at Whipple Ave in Redwood City. Head west toward the bay. The road winds 0.5 mile becoming East Bayshore, then Bair Island Road. The Don Edwards National Wildlife Refuge Bair Island parking lot is on the right, park there. Walk across the street and cross over the pedestrian bridge. We will meet there.
