Human minds love to discover patterns, to find intuitive explanations, and, most of all, to be certain. Yet our world is complicated and filled with randomness.

Our speaker, Dr. Jacob Bien, is Associate Professor of Statistics at the University of Southern California. He is also a director of Wonderfest, the Bay Area Beacon of Science.
