Yosemite and UC Berkeley: Partners in Research

Join UC Berkeley in a celebration of Yosemite National Park!

 

This is a FREE, public event that includes behind the scenes museum tours, mingling with scientists and park officials, displays on current research and historical artifacts, a scientific illustration demo, KQED’s “Resurveying California’s Wildlife 100 Years Later” video presentation, refreshments, plus a special lecture!

 

5pm-6:45pm reception and tours

 

6:45pm Yosemite National Park Interpretive Supervisor Lisa Murphy leads a toast to partners in research

Backroads Host Doug McConnell

7pm Doug McConnell of “Bay Area Backroads,” OpenRoad, and honorary national park ranger welcomes the public

 

7:10pm Dr. Jim Patton, curator of mammals at the Museum of Vertebrate Zoology, and emeritus UC Berkeley professor, presents “A Legacy of Joseph Grinnell: A Century of Change in the Natural History of Yosemite National Park”
