History Science Theater

Take a trip to the classrooms of yesteryear during this lively celebration of a once pervasive learning tool-16mm films. Armed with an enthrallingly entertaining selection of classic educational films drawn from his collection of more than 20,000, AV Geeks founder Skip Elsheimer (all the way from North Carolina!) will school us in the physics of the past via a few wildly entertaining selections that once passed for coursework. While Skip acts as resident scholar of cinema, Exploratorium senior scientist Ron Hipschman (who really does knows it all) will speculate on whether these film pass or fail in their scientific aspirations. Together they'll provide helpful commentary-what's fact, what's fiction, what's barely masked relig-o-science? A guaranteed fun and participatory night of cinema!
