Universal Rhythm NightLife

It might get loud this week as NightLife explores the science of sound and rhythm.
In the planetarium, learn how mathematical ideas take the shape of sights and sounds with a special screening of Chaos and Order at 7:30 and 8:30 pm.
In the Forum, hear a talk about the rhythmic activity in our brains and throughout the Universe from UCSF neuroscientist Dr. Adam Gazzaley, lead collaborator on the Rhythm and the Brain Project.
Head over to African Hall to watch visual projections of beats being made with Anticlockwise, learn how to decipher Morse code with MSRI, and participate in other activities that explore rhythms and patterns in the mathematical world.
Discover the choruses of nature at the Project Lab and chat with Academy herpetologist Dr. Bob Drewes as he explains how the heartbeats of cold-blooded animals speed up and slow down based on temperature.
