BigPicture Nightlife

This week, NightLife is all about image. Be the first to peep the Academy's second-annual BigPicture wildlife photography exhibit and raise a glass to the best in nature and conservation photography at a special opening presentation, hosted by renowned conservation photographer Neil Ever Osborne and best-selling author and Academy researcher J. Nichols. See the award-winning work of world-class photographers and learn how they document some of the most captivating moments of life on Earth in an effort to snap "the perfect shot." At the Project Lab, learn how Academy scientists photograph and digitize specimens at incredibly high resolutions with gigaMACRO-then head over to the Academy's new Color of Life exhibit to zoom into vibrant, shimmering specimens to your heart's content. Want to do more with your cameraphone than just snap a solid selfie? Get a lesson in "iPhoneography" and photo basics by photographer Kassie Borreson of Makeshift Society. Plus, view antique camera equipment and historical photos from the Academy's archives.
