Cybersecurity for Automotives
The role of electronics and software automotive industry has grown dramatically in the past couple decades, and they are critical in the design, development, and manufacturing of modern vehicles. Today's vehicles typically contain an in-vehicle network with over 70 Electronic Control Units (ECUs) responsible for most operational functionality, such as wireless communication, navigation, parking assistance, and general diagnostics.
Modern vehicles are sometimes referred to 'Computers on Wheels'. If computers are vulnerable to cyber attacks, then modern vehicles also are and require protection through application of cyber security tools and protocols. Recently, vulnerabilities have been demonstrated to remotely control and disable automotives.
This talk will present the technical challenges involved in design of Cyber Security for the automotive industry and the current and future application of Cyber Security Protection Protocols (CSPP).
