Don Hyatt, an Australian Skeptic, will take you through a guided tour of Australian skepticism, looking at the Australian attitude to pseudoscience, the paranormal and religion. The fights with anti-vaxers, purveyors of CAM, chiro, the emergence of shonky university degrees, water dowsing, compulsory religious instruction in schools and those legendary bush animals that have never been photographed clearly – and lots more. Plus the very important battle to reform the less than effective Therapeutic Goods Administration (= FDA).

Don was an educator in Australian schools for over 30 years, and subsequently taught in England. He is a former President of the Science Teachers' Association of Victoria and has been an active skeptic for many years. He convened the Australian Skeptics National Convention in 2012 and is the currently the convenor of the Skeptic Groups of Victoria.
