Join us a day of science at UCCE Elkus Ranch! Explore our agriculture, nutrition, and environmental education programs through hands-on activities presented by UC Cooperative Extension Advisors, Staff and Program Volunteers.
- Learn about pollination, beekeeping, aquatic insects and pests in your house.
- Sample fresh seasonal produce, learn to use edible herbs, taste some fermented foods and touch a kombucha SCOBY.
- Make a seed pot and plant a seed. Learn what can go in your compost.
- Explore local rangeland ecology and learn about the benefits of livestock grazing.
- Tour Elkus Ranch to meet our animals and visit our gardens.
- See how mushrooms and termites turn wood into food.
- Talk to a soil scientist and get the dirt on “dirt!â€
