Creating materials that do not exist in nature: Negative refraction, superlens and invisibility cloak

Once a year, the Ernest S. Kuh Distinguished Lecture Series presents an opportunity to hear from scientists and engineers who are tackling our world’s most pressing problems. The series is made possible by a generous gift from Professor Emeritus Ernest Kuh and his wife, Bettine. Professor Kuh was dean of the College of Engineering from 1973-1980, and he was instrumental in securing the college’s reputation as a leader in engineering education. It’s fitting that his legacy is inspiring successive generations of future engineers with this series of thought-provoking lectures.
