The Microbiome: what is it, and how does it affect your health?
Your body is inhabited with 100 trillion microbes, collectively referred to as the microbiome. Join us for a walk through the history of studying our microbial inhabitants, their roles in health, and how scientists hope to use microbes as treatments in the future. Join us at the San Mateo Public Library on Monday, April 30 for a presentation by Fiona Tamburini and Jessica Ribado, graduate students in Dr. Ami Bhatt's microbiome lab at Stanford University. This program is sponsored by the Library's Biotechnology Learning Center.
