Crop Disease Management: Natural Products as Inspiration

Synthetic chemists have long been inspired by the ability of nature to design and engineer complex natural products. Nature builds small molecules for a plethora of reasons including the protection of plants from fungal infections, insect damage, and the invasion of competitive species. These critical components of plant protection have inspired research at CortevaTM Agriscience and as a result, we are the industry leader in the development of natural products and semi-synthetic natural products for agricultural applications. This talk will highlight our natural products approach to lead generation and discuss the discovery and SAR of our new fungicide, InatreqTM active, which delivers a new mode of action for cereal disease control.
