San Jose Hands-on Science

The event would be an opportunity for teachers, parents, students and all community members to tour the different parts of the Resource Area for Teaching (RAFT). The materials donation department, the teacher collaboration space, and the research and develop labs. The tour of the facility would culminate in several design challenges in which students, teachers and community members participate. The design challenges are aligned to Next Generation Science Standards and encourage team work, persistence, as well as other social emotional skills. Walk away with a creative design prototype, all imagined and engineered by you! Experience “make and take” projects for all ages. Tour the RAFT facility and participate in design challenges emphasizing team work and persistence. Tours start at the top of every hour.
