Emergent Technologies in Art Practice

Miguel Novelo Cruz

Through practices centered on creative computation, generative systems, and real-time interaction, artists today actively reconfigure, hack, and subvert emerging technologies, repurposing them as tools for expression and meaning-making.

Drawing from my practice and research, this talk positions experimental media art as a critical research method. This approach moves beyond simple representation to instead construct and explore complex systemic behaviors, prototype novel forms of communication, and investigate the evolving relationships between humans, non-humans, and the liminal spaces they co-inhabit.
