Satellite Payload Systems Engineering

Speaker: Ian Furniss is a Senior Payload Systems Engineer at Astranis, a San Francisco based company that designs, builds, and operates communications satellites in geostationary orbit (GEO). In this presentation, he'll introduce the fundamentals of GEO and explain what a Payload Systems Engineer does, covering topics such as orbital mechanics, RF communications, link budgets, and how engineers design and test modern satellite communication systems.
