A Slow Walk Through Wavecrest
Join us for a slow-paced nature walk along the scenic bluffs of Wavecrest Open Space.
Unlike a typical hike focused on reaching the destination, this experience invites us to slow down and notice the natural world around us. Together, we’ll explore the landscape through guided observation activities, quiet reflection, and opportunities to appreciate birds, wildflowers, coastal views, and the small details that are often missed when we’re moving quickly.
Along the way, we’ll discover Wavecrest’s unique natural and agricultural landscape and learn how POST and Coastside Land Trust partnered to protect much of this special place. Today, Coastside Land Trust continues that work by improving public access, acquiring additional land, restoring habitat, and creating safer, more sustainable ways for people to experience the coast.
This approximately 2-mile out-and-back walk will be conducted at a very leisurely pace with several stops along the way. Participants will have opportunities to sit quietly, observe nature, and reflect on their experience. Those who enjoy writing or drawing may wish to bring a notebook to jot down observations or reflections, or to sketch a landscape or a passing bird, although this is entirely optional. Simply bringing yourself and being present is enough. Limited paper and writing supplies will be available.
