Statistical Learning and Sparsity - Rescheduled

Dr. Tibshirani will discuss the hot area of supervised learning, focusing specifically on the lasso method for obtaining sparse models. He will also describe some applications of these methods to his own collaborative work, including prediction of platelet usage at Stanford Hospital.
