Join tech pioneer, sociologist and provocative author, Ted Nelson, in a free reading, lecture, Q&A, and book signing at the release of his latest work "POSSIPLEX: Movies, Intellect, Creative Control, My Computer Life and the Fight for Civilization".
Nelson, who has worked for more than fifty years to make computers easily accessible to all people, invented computer hypertext - and coined the term in 1960. He founded Project Xanadu to create a computer network with a simple user interface.
POSSIPLEX tells the story of Nelson's life and work, pulling together and extending the innovative ideas that Nelson has developed over the decades. Today, Nelson is Visiting Professor of Electronics and Computer Science at the University of Southampton, UK. - where he works in the fields of information, computers, and human-machine interfaces.
