Family Astronomy: Mysteries of the Sun

Explore the Sun’s influence on Earth, its place among the billions of stars in our galaxy, and the exciting science of NASA’s upcoming MUSE mission, which will help scientists better understand the Sun and its dynamic atmosphere. Through a variety of solar-themed astronomy experiences, families will discover how our star shapes the world around us and connects us to the broader universe.

Guided by Chabot’s Science Educators and Galaxy Explorer Teen ambassadors, this evening blends science, creativity, and imagination. Hot cocoa and snacks will keep everyone cozy before telescope viewing begins at the Observatory, where you can look up and see the stars for yourself.

Location: Studio 3 (entrance via the Observation Deck)
