Medical Humanities: Care and the family in South Asia and the US

Drawing from several clinical studies in the US and in India (?), this talk discusses the challenge of involving the family in providing care to those with chronic illness. In particular, it explores the different ways in which families are oriented to be involved in care in India and in the Bay Area (?) and the challenges this presents to clinician and patient alike.
