GEANT4, A MONTE CARLO TOOLKIT TO SIMULATE PARTICLE TRANSPORT IN HIGH ENERGY, MEDICAL AND AEROSPACE PHYSICS

GEANT4

Geant4 is a toolkit to simulate the passage of particles through matter. While Geant4 was originally developed for High Energy Physics, major application domains now include Aerospace and Medical Physics. We will show how Geant4 has been applied in all three domains and will highlight Geant4's flexible qualities that may make it a useful tool for your own research.

Speaker: Dr. Joseph Perl is a software developer at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. He serves on the Steering Board of the Geant4 Collaboration as the Visualization Coordinator and is also coordinator of the Geant4 North American Medical Users Organization. His primary research is on applications of Geant4 to Particle Therapy (radiation therapy using proton and ion beams).
