Expedition Nightlife

For six weeks this spring, dozens of Academy scientists have been hiking, sweating, and diving their way through the Philippines in order to explore and document the animal and plant life in this biodiversity hotspot. This week, NightLife celebrates this landmark research expedition – the Academy's largest to date, and also the most comprehensive scientific survey ever conducted in the Philippines.  See specimens from the expedition, hear from participating scientists, and gain a new appreciation for what it takes to discover a new species of sea slug, moss, or spider, and why it matters.  Also enjoy Filipino music and folk dance performances.
