Year of the Dragon NightLife

Chinese Dragon

Get a jump start on celebrating Chinese New Year with a night of lion dancers, martial arts demonstrations, and good fortune.  Learn about the significance of the Chinese lunar calendar, and how it compares to calendars from other cultures like the Maya during a special presentation. Welcome the Year of the Dragon alongside Academy herpetologists, who will be on-hand to discuss dragons they've studied around the world (think Komodo, not Puff). Watch a master calligrapher at work, and request a special phrase of your own to take home. And, pick up some culinary tips during a Chinese cooking demonstration by Chef Kelly Degala from the Academy Café. Music by Magic Touch.
