A Tale of Two City Butterflies

Liam O'Brien's life changed forever in the spring of 1996. The professional stage actor had just returned to San Francisco after two years on Broadway in Les Miserables, when a western tiger swallowtail flew into his yard. He bought a butterfly field guide, joined the Lepidopterists' Society, and began gaining national recognition for his outstanding art work. In 2007 Liam stepped into the world of butterfly conservation, and is active in the protection of endangered butterflies on San Bruno Mountain and Twin Peaks.
