Groundbreaking Festival
The Children's Museum of Sonoma County (CMOSC) invites the public to its new home at 1835 W. Steele Lane (next to the Charles M. Schulz Museum) for a special "Groundbreaking Festival'.
In addition to a variety of family-fun, interactive hands-on activities, the event also includes a Groundbreaking Ceremony starting at 11:00am. The ceremony opens with the dynamic M Studio Dance Troupe followed by, Mayor Scott Bartley presenting an official proclamation. Guest speakers will include Supervisor Shirlee Zane, CMOSC Board President Herb Williams, and CMOSC CEO Collette Michaud.
Guest organizations include special partners of the Children's Museum who have played an important role in the Museum's progress. These groups include the Active 20-30 Club of Santa Rosa #50 who will provide breakfast items from 10am-11am, and activities and/or information from the Sonoma County Water Agency, BASE Architecture, Scientific Art Studio, Pacific Gas & Electric, and Aquascape.
Additional festival activities will include the Children's Museum of Sonoma County's Museum-on-the-Go, special arts and crafts depicting the life cycle of the Museum's mascot "Mary" the butterfly, fort building with oversized cardboard boxes, a dig pit for kids, and a themed photo booth provided by DJ Mobile.
