Searching for Cosmic Rays
When high-energy cosmic rays strike the atmosphere, they produce immense particle showers which scatter radiation over an area the size of the city of Berkeley. For over 100 years, scientists have been searching for the sources of these energetic particles. This talk will give an overview of the history of cosmic ray studies, discuss current experimental efforts, and discuss what we have learned about cosmic particle accelerators.
