'Looking for Darwin's Footprints in the World of ZomBees' Darwin Day Bagel Brunch
"Looking for Darwin's Footprints in the World of ZomBees" -- Our distinguished speaker today is Prof. John Hafernik, SFSU; Interim Director, Tiburon Center for Environmental Studies; and Trustee and President, California Academy of Sciences. Prof. Hafernik, an entomologist, will share some of his research on a tiny parasitic fly--the zombie fly--and its relationship to bees. He will also discuss how Darwin's ideas were influenced by his knowledge of the insect world.
This event is hosted by Kol Hadash, Northern California Community for Humanistic Judaism, a chapter of The Society for Humanistic Judaism, and an affiliate of the American Humanist Association. Please bring your appetite for a delicious lox and bagel brunch. Albany Community Center, Rms I and II.
