Tomales Point Elk Adventure
Join the Nature Journal Club for a field trip to sketch and explore the lives of majestic Tule Elk in the picturesque landscape of the Point Reyes National Seashore. If you are new to journaling, you will find it inspiring to watch other journalers document and explore the area. The club encourages people of all ages to come together and create art in nature. The Tomales Point Trail passes through the Tule Elk preserve and we have good chances of finding both cow and bull elk. The trail if fairly level and well maintained. There are toilets near the trailhead but not on the trail. We will cover between three and four miles during the day and will enjoy our potluck lunch somewhere out there (make it portable). At the end of the day we will caravan to the Route One Gallery in Point Reyes Station to see the exhibit "Wild Books".
