Dobsonian Telescope Making Class at the Randall Museum

Continuing the tradition of John Dobson teaching telescope making, San Francisco Amateur Astronomers offers telescope making classes at the Randall Museum in San Francisco. Learn how to make your own telescope by grinding and polishing your own telescope mirror, and design and build the entire telescope.

What to Expect

Learn how a Dobsonian Telescope works- designed around the optics, and balanced.

Grind and polish your own mirror for your telescope. Customize the size of your scope based on the diameter of the glass you choose, and the focal length.

Class begins on 3/18 and continues every Tuesday thru May 20
