Guided Hike: Mount Diablo State Park
Let The Greenbelt Alliance take you on a journey through 200 million years of Bay Area geologic history, from the age of the dinosaurs to present day. Karen Synowiec, a professional geologist at Chevron Energy Technology, will be leading the hike as you caravan through Mount Diablo State Park for several short hikes totaling 3 miles to study some fascinating fossils and landforms.
Oh, and the views from the Mount Diablo summit will be pretty good (you'll be able to see all nine Bay Area counties).
Rain cancels the hike. Please bring lunch and liquids; wear good hiking shoes and dress in layers. Also, please go online to RSVP.
