Occultations Ain't Voodoo. Why, How, and When to Observe Them

We will discuss WHY we observe Occultations, both Asteroidal and Lunar.

I will show some sample equipment that is suitable for videotaping accurately timed occultation data, as well as discuss and use various pieces of software to predict the events (OCCULT 4) and analyze the results (Limovie et al). In addition I will show some results, including videos of previous events.. Finally, I'll point out some upcoming events in the San Jose area. (Hint- There is one the next night.)
