DIY Nightlife

Let your inspiration run wild as you DIY throughout the museum with the help of the Bay Area maker community.

Make out like a bandit and pick up sweet gifts for friends (or treat yourself!) at a pop-up maker shop with vendors from SF Bazaar.

Then, meet artists from SF Maker Faire as they display their handcrafted works in African Hall.

Who says you need a degree to build a computer? Join the Computer & Technology Resource Center and help turn recycled e-waste into usable computers for underserved communities.

Then, meet a super computer maker bot by Other Machine Co.. Stanford Postdocs will show off replacement parts designed for the human heart, and The Crucible will host a metal-working workshop.

Join Green Art Workshop to create your very own eco-animal.

Want to see what happens when science and art nerds unite? View an exhibit of projects by grad students from both the Academy and the California College of the Arts in display in the East Pavilion.

In the planetarium, space out on art as you catch a special presentation of Making Art in the Dome at 7:30 and 8:30 pm.

At the Project Lab, check out intricate animal nests built by nature's makers. Trust us, they're impressive!
