Observe the Sun safely with the Mt. Diablo Astronomical Society. The instruments we use block 99.999% of the light from the Sun, providing detail of many solar features. Supporting activities will demonstrate how the Sun behaves.
Bring kids, binoculars, warm clothes (temperature can drop), snacks, water. No need for a flashlight but if you must bring one cover it in red plastic. Escorted exit several times during the evening through Northgate entrance.
Astronomy program is weather dependent including high fire danger.

Please join Mt. Diablo Astronomical Society for the April 27 astronomy program. Lower Summit Parking Lot of Mt. Diablo State Park. The program starts at 10:00 am (enter the park at least 45 minutes earlier) at the lower summit parking lot. Although there is no fee for this program there is a $10 park entrance fee.
