Aquapalooza: Party Like a Pirate

Steady your sea legs and get ready to sail the high seas during this special pirate-themed Aquapalooza. We'll have food, drinks, and a silent disco in our tunnel exhibit, plus hands-on science-based crafts and activities (admit it, you're never too old for crafts). Turn trash into treasure and discover the Bay as you embark on a treasure hunt throughout the Aquarium, and explore the wondrous world of plankton, imagining how their feats would translate into our world by amplifying their size (trust us, it's impressive).

Plus, hear from our very own Sustainable Initiatives Manager, Maggie Ostdahl, who went on a research expedition across the Atlantic Ocean with 5 Gyres to study the effects of plastic pollution.

What is Aquapalooza?

Aquapalooza is a special combination of science and socializing. Get in touch with your nerdy side during this adults only event on the first Wednesday of each month. Stroll through 300-foot tunnels while you share a drink with a shark, enjoy some beats under the Bay, and get crafty with hands-on science-based activities.
