Marine Science Sunday: Under the Bridge: Marine Mammals of SF Bay

Our own backyard in the bay is full of amazing marine mammals!  Free classroom programs will highlight our local sea lions at Pier 39, the return of harbor porpoises to the Bay after a 60 year absense, and even the occassional dolphin and whale that wanders under the Bridge! We recommend teaming our free classroom program with a Docent-led tour at 11am, 1pm or 3pm for a truly immersive marine mammal experience.

FREE Classroom Programs: Marine Mammal Superheroes- 12 PM and 2 PM (1 hour sessions)
Join Adam Ratner, Guest Experience Manager and animal care volunteer at The Marine Mammal Center, for an interactive presentation on the marine mammals we can see in the Bay! Adam will talk about the sea lions at PIER 39, the porpoises returning to the Bay after a 60 year absense and even whales that have wandered under the Golden Gate Bridge! Sessions are held in the Center's classroom at 12pm and 2pm. A great compliment to the docent-led tour!

Docent-led Tours* - 11:00 AM, 1:00 PM, and 3:00 PM
Learn fascinating facts about seals and sea lions from our education experts while seeing exhibits and patient viewing areas. (*Small fee applies, it helps our patients!).
