July 5th. Public Astronomy Program On Mt Diablo
Please join Mt. Diablo Astronomical Society for the July 5th. astronomy program at Mt. Diablo State Park. The program starts at 7:30 pm (enter the park at least 45 minutes earlier) at the lower summit parking lot. Although there is no fee for this program there is a $10 park entrance fee.
This Saturday, explore our Sun and Moon: Arrive at 7:30 to safely view the Sun through telescopes. How can the Sun affect cell phones and create auroras ? Why does the Sun have spots? And Earth's lost rock: our Moon.
Bring kids, binoculars, warm clothes (temperature can drop), snacks, water. No need for a flashlight but if you must bring one cover it in red plastic. Escorted exit several times during the evening through Northgate entrance.
Astronomy programs are weather dependent, including high fire danger.
